I have always been a hands-on person thanks to my dad. When I was big enough to pick up a hammer, he would allow me to tag along and "assist" him with his many projects. My first formal training in woodworking was during 8th grade in Mr. John Cheeks' Industrial Arts class at Alexander Junior High School.
As a young adult, I began working as a professional cabinetmaker, developing my skills for fifteen years building both commercial and residential cabinetry. I was privileged to learn from some very talented craftsmen (Thanks Jack, Dave, Tony, Sam, Mike, & Dart!).
I now have the opportunity to escape to my workshop and create some of the items you see on this website. I hand turn fountain pens, ball-point pens, rollerball pens, pencils, and other small gifts.

When one has made with his own hands any object of use or ornament there is a sense of personal pride and satisfaction in the result, that no expenditure of money can buy, and this very fact serves to dignify the task and stamp it with individuality.
